One Man's Trash...

So this summer, thanks to my friend Kathleen, I really got into refurbishing treasures that I found on Craigslist and at Goodwill. It's amazing what a new coat of paint will do!

I found this doll crib at Goodwill for $5

I used pink paint that I already had (with two girls I always have extra pink paint!)and borrowed a friends Cricut to make the flowers and words...a little Mod Podge and...VOILA!

I even made a mattress pad

This set (table, 4 chairs, 2 leaves) was only $60 on Craigslist. My super-shopper friends Kathleen not only found it for me but she and her husband went and picked it up in their truck. BEST NEIGHBORS EVER!!!

This is what it looked like when we got it...

...and here is what it looks like today...all it needed was a fresh coat of paint and fabric for the chair pads

This last one is my favorite...mostly because it has a story...

I was running outside and came across this sitting at the curb with the trash...

I ran straight home and got my van. My hubby was a little confused as to why I would want someone's trash. He really tried to convince me to let it go, but I knew what a treasure it really was. Similar wood benches can cost close to $100 new and this one was FREE!!! Needless to say I went and picked it up, spent $10 on paint and now we have a beautiful "new to us" bench that Nate is not allowed to sit on!

I can't wait until spring to start more refurbishing projects! It's so fun to turn unwanted things into a unique and custom treasure!
