It's not you, it's me

Dear D.C.

I'm sorry to tell you this in a letter, but I'm leaving you.

It's not you, it's me...I hope we can still be friends...

We've had some good times together and I'll always remember them, but I really feel it's time for both of us to move on. I've become too dependent on you. It's like I can't function without you and that can't be healthy. I've even raided my children's piggy banks so that we can be together. I'm done digging through the bottom of purses, under couch cushions and the seats of my car to find loose change.

It's not going to be easy. I know I'll see you around and will be tempted to get back together with you, but I this time it's REALLY over.

Please don't try to call, email, text or Facebook me...that'll just make it to hard for both of us...

In the immortal words of Chicago...

But if you see me walking by,
And the tears are in my eyes,
Look away, baby, look away.

If we meet on the streets someday,
And I don't know what to say,
Look away, baby, look away.
Don't look at me;
I don't want you to see me this way.

You will always have a special place in my heart!
